Car Seat Help!

Jason and I have yet to get a car seat. Today I went to babies r us online and saw this ad for this AMAZING car seat... ( I think... I am easily amazed :) ) Its a convertable that fits from 5 to 50 pounds... my only draw back is that it isnt one of those that you can take in and out with the baby in it.... I need advice!!! Whats really important in a car seat?

Funny you should ask. I had this conversation with Jennifer and Shea the other day. I feel that is my only forte when it comes to babies is car seats. I was very well educated by a 17 year old looking employee at Babies R Us about car seats. You want one that you can take in and out with the baby in it at first. That way you don't have to wake up baby if they are sleeping. It makes it easier to transport, etc. I think that car seat you posted is super hot. I would buy it anyway and just use it after he grows out of the carrier deal. That is my two cents, but I don't have first hand experience.

Yea, I would definately think you'd want one that snaps in/out of the car. It's easier also to take in restaurants, shoppig etc. I do like this seat for in the future, but I think you'd be happier with a 'baby' seat at first!

you have to have one that you can take him in places. he'll sleep a lot and you don't want to wake him. tanner has a great convertible one, but we just started using it at 9 months.

A carrier is a must...have you ever tried to go to Walmart with a baby that can't sit up in the buggy? Remember to look for one that is fairly lightweight (but with good ratings, of course) because even though you'll only be putting about 7 extra pounds in it at first, it gets heavy quick...Have fun shopping!
